The Blue Cave (Grotta Azzurra) is a sea cave on the coast of the island of Capri, southern Italy. The sunlight that passes through the underwater cavity and shines on the sea water creates a reflection of blue light that illuminates the cave. The cave extends about 50 meters into the cliffs at the surface, and is about 150 meters (490 ft) deep, with a sandy bottom.
